Cooling fans dont work,
well, im at a loss here,
my cooling fans dont work, i figured this out, the previous owner had wired one wire up, and left it on a switch, so when all the coolant had seeped into the oil, from the failing LIMG, he could just kick the fan on, now, i want to fix this, i want to rewire this so the fans work as they should, now i cant seem to figure out where the heck this wire goes, when i power it into the battery, it makes a huge spark and roars on, one fan though, if you were looking through the windshield, the fan on the right, if you were looking through as if you were looking under the hood, the fan on the left, now this is a big problem, because the car is old, and when i sit at a traffic light, the temp starts to rise, and it freaks me out, and i noticed this, i will wire it to a toggle, but i would love the car to be able to trigger its own fans on and off, and not have meaningless wires and toggle switches around, and my mom does drive this car and i know her with gauges, she wont look and when the car stalls from overheating, she will keep cranking it over and driving it until it dies....
so maybe, wiring diagrams etc? ill get pics of where the wire is coming from today

If you are building a car, you really should keep the manual in the car. This way if you are stuck you can find the problem right away and fix it.
A lot quicker and cheaper than a tow truck
If the stock fans don't work, you could invest in an aftermarket set. The wiring workes pretty good. I had a 195* trigger switch in that car and it came on at exactly 197* (water temp probe was in the back of the engine, fan probe was in the front)
I would sit in traffic and say to my wife, "OK the fans will go on right....now" and click. She didn't understand how I knew that

My fans were doing that too once. Is it the HVAC fuse? I believe it's on the passenger side fuse box.

One of the fans is controlled by the engine temp, the other should only kick on when you turn on the A/C. And yes, there is a wiring diagram in the back of the haynes manual. I would suggest wiring it back up the way it is supposed to be. Is your LIMG fixed now? Double check your coolant level and thermostat. If the thermostat is stuck closed, the coolant will not be able to get to the rad, and it will just get hotter and hotter. When you car gets up to temp, physically get out and feel your top rad hose, if it is hot, your thermostat is working. If it's cold, the thermostat is stuck, or you are too low on coolant.
