Engine's Leaking

Yesterday was the first time i noticed this, its leaking water from somewhere in the lower part of the engine bay, i just got the water pump fixed about a month and a half ago.. so it couldnt be that... its not engine coolant... i used a white cloth to soak up some of it and smelt it.. didnt smelt burnt or anything like that.. so i'm sure its water... could it be the radiator? ac (mind you i've only used the a/c on this car 3 times and there were no leaks)

Well when you use A/C there can be condesation depending on the temperature. Need to pinpoint the amount of the leak and wear from. If it was from the coolant system it would be coolant.

Its not hte coolant.. i remember when it was leaking engine coolant .. i put in an orange coloured fluid... so its definately not that.. i'm trying to read up on this ... could be the thermostat... intake manifold ... bah! The $1000 i had to modify this car are gonna go in the repairs.. grrrrrrr! The leaks from somewhere in the lower part of the engine on the left side.

Dude if it's not coolant it's not the thermostat or lower intake manifold gasket leaking. There's only two fluids that run through the engine, coolant and oil. If it doesn't smell, is clear, it's obviously water.

WATER = H2O
NOT COOLANT "WATER"

It's condensation dripping off your A/C system.

No it's normal. The water comes from the air. Water vapor condenses into liquid form on the A/C components, and subsequently drips off onto the ground.

go get a can of air... and spray the crap outta it. feel the can get so cold you can't hold onto it? thats condensation.

same things happens to your AC system. ambient air is condensing around your cold AC equipment, when the water gets condensed enough, it drips off. Clear fluid dripping from your car, isn't a bad thing. it happens. Nothing to spend money on.

its better than mine. My AC doesn't work.

seriously? its just a/c condensation. it happens to every single car there is with a/c. there isn't anything at all in your car that just uses water as its fluid.

If you haven't been running your A/C, then it won't be dripping water.

However! That probably means the A/C clutch is engaging even when it's not supposed to be. Go have a look with the engine running w/ the A/C on and off to see if the clutch is engaging onto the pulley.

If he has his defrost on, the A/C engages. Same with one other condition, I forget.

So i took it to the mechanic ... he couldnt figure out the leak either. I have only ran my a/c once this whole past summer.... btw i forgot to mention (the car's automatic) .. so anywho, a/c wasnt running ..this is the first thing anything like this has happened, i understand what condensation is.. but that much..that its causing a pool of water? So thats why i kinda freaked out about it.. btw Jayson Waltz, that gif is amazing hahaha

ok... so where is the leak, specifically... as in.. where under the car? behind the engine, behind the tire (passanger or driver) front of the engine..etc

your positive its water? taste it and find out. (seriously! there is nothing in the engine that a fingertip's worth of will hurt you)

be mindful of what you were donig last, when you see it leaking.

but like stated before, there is nothing that could possibly leak from the car, that is clear/water like.

the only other option, is if its near the inside of the driver's tire, sometimes the washer fluid pump gets a crack in it, and it sprays the inside of the driver's side fender... leading to it dripping some. easy thing to fix.

Okay, the mechanic told me to put a piece of paper underneath the car and bring it to him the next day... stupid rain and stormy winds washed the paper away... lol

ok so taste it, the only other option for something that looks exactly like water when it leaks is antifreeze. it it tastes biter n a lil sweet n salty, its antifreeze. from there is can be nailed down to a cracked hose or a clamp not being tight any more, etc...
