Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle, allowing the front suspension to hang free. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignments.
Remove the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement.
Remove the bolt from the rear transmission mount (4).
Remove the power steering line bracket from the suspension crossmember.
Remove the bolts (1) from the clamps (2) attaching the stabilizer shaft (3) to the crossmember (4).
Support the rear of the crossmember (4) with an adjustable jack stand.
Remove the rear bolts (3) from the crossmember (4).
Loosen the front bolts (5) on the crossmember (4).
Lower the crossmember (4) three inches by adjusting the jack stands down.
Remove the stabilizer shaft from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the stabilizer shaft to the vehicle. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the rear bolts (3) to the crossmember (4) in the following order:
2.1. Tighten the left rear bolt to 245 Nm (180 ft. lbs.) plus 180 degrees rotation.
2.2. Tighten the right rear bolt to 245 Nm (180 ft. lbs.) plus 180 degrees rotation.
2.3. Tighten the left front bolt to 115 Nm (84 ft. lbs.) plus 120 degrees rotation.
2.4. Tighten the right front bolt to 115 Nm (84 ft. lbs.) plus 120 degrees rotation.
Install the clamps (2) and the bolts (1) to the stabilizer shaft (3).Tighten the bolts to 66 Nm (49 ft. lbs.).
Install the power steering line bracket to the suspension crossmember.
Install the bolt (1) to the rear transmission mount (4).Tighten the bolt to 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
Install the tie rods (3) to the steering knuckles (6). Refer to Tie Rod End Replacement - Outer.
Install the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement.
Install the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignments.
Lower the vehicle.
