Looking for some 20"s

I've been wanting some bigger rims for a while, and I've finally decided to go ahead and get twenties.

I've looked over a few websites, and found a few styles I like. I'm really leaning towards getting chrome.

Ok, now to the point of the thread:
If anyone has some styles that would look good on our cars, please post them up. I'm looking for mainly reasonable priced tire/rim packages. The tire size I need is 225/35. I'm scared to get 225/30 due to lack of sidewall.

Also, how do twenties ride daily? I don't want something that will quickly mess up. I drive carefully and dodge every pothole I see. Do the tires bubble easily?

make sure they are 7.5 wide (rims that is) the rear WILL rub and the first day you will smell burnt rubber, unless you cut your spring cup.

They will bend easier, and you will feel every pebble in the road.
There is a place up here in Baltimore, that sells 20 X 7.5 with tires for $1600. They may ship, but their price also includes install on car, and painted calipers if not already.

Thats a pretty good price. There is a place here I heard about today that sells 20" rims with basic tires for $1,000. Going to go check that out thursday.

cool deal, and i agree, I have 20s on mine, and def makes it look better.....but def more for show than go.

wow 1k, thats good, just be careful, some rims are cheaply dipped and will pit or flake after a year.

20's will give you a very rough ride. You will feel every crack on the road. Also, they do bend very easy. They are not pratical, I bent mine within 5 blocks from where I bought them on the first day. Talk about a waste of money.

they only recomend 19 at highest and thats with 8in wide

I got 20 x 8.5 and 235's that still had room to go wider on the rear. It really depends on the brand of rims and tires. When you're going this size, you almost have to test fit them to know for certain.

woah, did you use spacers? or how high of an offset were they.

the 7.5 with I think a +40 offset, were touching my spring cup. Every place i contacted said 7.5. It is AMAZING if you got 8.5 on there

Yeah, I have heard this. But I'm bagged, so I already feel every crack on the road lol.

Do they really bend that easy? The roads here are not in good shape, but everyone rides around on 22s and 24s without a problem.

They bend easier then a smaller rim yes, of course, but I dont think it is much to be worried over. Just take prestine care of them, and if you hit a pothole or whatever, take the rim to get looked at/fixed/rebalenced.

No spacers, I think the offset was +35. It's been over a year since I got them but I know it was within the acceptable range for our car. The brand was Klasse Bremmen and the tire is Falken FK452 series. And most places will tell you 7.5 because not many aleros owners go for rims that wide and most dealers are not willing to order it just so you could test fit them, which I was fortunate enough to do so.

They do, mine bent from going over a water cc on the road. With 20's you have about 3/4 to one inch of rubber at most that doesn't give you much room for the rubber to protect the rim. Trust me it's not worth the hassel. I find that it takes away from the enjoyment of my ride becasue I'm always having to look out for every hazard on the road. It got to a point where I was looking for alternate road to drive just to avoid the unavoidable potholes and cracks on certain roads. I now use my 18's instead. Keep in mind that it's not the size of the rim that matters it's the amount of sidewall that's the key. Unfortunately for our car, with 20's you can't go much more than 30 series without rubbing issues. I've actually looked into this quite abit. I initally wanted to go 22's but that was impossible without major customizing. Not worth it, for the cost.

What's sad is that I do that right now because I ride pretty low lol. So I'm already used to it.

Great advice guys, keep it coming. I'm really on the fence between this lol. 17s just look too small on my car I hate it

Here's how the 20's look on the car. Some like them and some don't and don't mind the dirty engine bay. It's been cleaned up nicely since.

If you like that look and don't mind the maintanence I'd go for it. If it makes you happy, that's all that matters.

The rims are a 20" / 7.5" / +40mm offset
The tires are 225/35

I got 35s because I needed a little more sidewall than 30s. These size rims/tires work well because they still tuck into the fender wells when I lay the car out.

they are the same specs as mine, be careful the rear tire will prob hit the spring cup and melt a small bit of the inside of the tires. Wont effect it just will smell some burnt rubber for a day or 2

So you do have 225/35s ?

How do they hold up to bumps? I'm kinda paranoid while driving lol.
