Before I put it into this new box I did my absolute best with only about 3/4" sticking out from the cone to work with... yup, the readout on my amp is 2.3 ohms and they are 2 ohm voice coils wired to 1-ohm. Therefore, a coil is out. But the good news is, I called the owner of DC Audio and he is shipping me a recone FREE of charge because it is covered under their warranty due to the stitching and slapping.

Here's the story.^^^^^ I did a 142.0 @ 40hz on one stinking coil. Pun sadly unintended. Plans: have a d1 recone coming. Going to have it wired down to .5 and can't wait to see how 4k treats it.

Of course for burps only. The knob is a nice feature to have.
