Question on plastic trim pieces..

So yesterday I spent all night tearing out the interior of the alero because I am renting a rug doctor and going to deep clean the entire car, anywhere that has something remotely fabric-y feeling, it's getting done. I have all the seats out and just have the center console to finish.

My question is, what can I use to clean the million plastic trim pieces I removed? Like the ones that go around the seatbelts/doors, etc. The push-on clip style.

Can I use my trusty degreaser diluted in water? Will it discolor the plastic? These panels all have 234k miles on them (and it was a "kid hauler"), and need some TLC. I figure since I'm doing the carpet may as well overhaul the whole interior.

Any suggestions on getting the cleanest uniform result? I was thinking about soaking them all in the tub with some hot water/degreaser for about 30 minutes then scrubbing with a sponge each panel and then rinsing..

I've used from pieces I've gotten from junk yard. A bucket full of water and some dish soap. Got a little nail/hand brush and just scrubbed them. It didn't mess up the plastic or discolor them. Just make sure you don't have a thick coarse brush. The degreaser should be fine just don't mix it to strong.

Simple green + water to clean and then i forget exactly what it was but it was like a vinyl protector by turtle wax. Made the car smell awesome and was like brand new.

Get a batch of toothbrushes from the dollar store. Simple Green works very well on almost anything a car interior gets exposed to. Real protectant/wax works a lot better than nasty old slimeall.
