Life of an Alero
I have a 99 Alero and it has 180,000 miles on and I want to put a lot of different mods on it. Before I do this I wanted to know if anyone had an idea of the life of these cars.

and lots of time its luck. ive got a 2000 with the 2.4 and close to 190k and ive never had any sort of drivetrain issue, and very few other mechanical issues. then theres people who have 50k or less and have major mechanical and drivetrain issues, although a lot of those are related to the lower intake manifold gasket (LIMG) going bad on the 3.4.

My 2.2 ecotec has 236,000 km on it, (147,000 miles) and it runs great. Never hesitates in winter and doesn't leak at all.
Love this car!

Seems most people just decide to trade up or they get wrecked, it's getting a lot harder to find quality used parts without just buying a whole second parts car.

It'll run as long as you fix it up. Neglegance and lack of maintance kills all cars.

Really depends on the condition of the car... Mine's an '03 with the 2.2 Ecotec, the first engine died when a valve dropped into the cylinder, replaced at only 46,xxx miles, with a new factory engine that currently only has 65,xxx miles...
