New CF Cowl hood for Ruby
Well....finally got some pics up of the hood on the car Sorry it took so long KW.....i got your text, but obviously forget to get back to you. It takes me forever to do stuff....lol. Enjoy!
BTW....anybody else with the cowl hoods.....do you have fitment issues? the only problem i have is the hood doesnt sit flush with the top of the fenders.....its up a little higher....i tried screwing those rubber stops down all the way and that didnt help.....feels like its pushing against something....idk. I guess you all will see at ASS

ehh.. never really liked it. Its too..rigid looking. doesn't flow well, imo.
BUT, that hood fits best on the maroon car. (if not black or dark blue) I hate CF hoods on bright cars. Just looks goofy.
Just to finish off the look, i'd try to find a dark gray that is similar, and do your headlight bezels that color. make it blend a bit more.

I agree cherry....i wanna paint the hood and leave the sides of the cowl CF.....im leaning more towards painting it a dark grey/gun metal color to kind of match my wheels....then i will paint all the chrome trim black and prob get the windows tinted again.....i could smoke the tails and headlights......not too much just a coat or two. I appreciate the feedback!

I had the cowl hood. for the fitment issues you are having, you gotta adjust the screws and nuts with the hinges. It's damn near impossible to explain online though....

I had some issues with mine as well... I still have to get the top corners fixed and painted and I am going to leave the rising sides of the cowl carbon fiber and color match the rest of it with my car...

lol....yea trying to explain what the issue is is damn near impossible to explain on here. I should have taken a pic of the problem.....w/e. If your talking about how to adjust the gaps i know that already....the gaps arent bad....loosening the hinges will only screw up the gaps. The hood doesnt sit flush with the top of the fenders.....its like something is stopping it from going down all the way, its weird....
and TWO....I LIKE! Same idea as me!!! so its true.....great minds DO think alike

The fitment issue is interesting because I believe that is my old hood. I have pictures of it that show no issues with the fender height.

i had to remove the cowl rubber due to it pushing up in the back.

The fitment is minor, like 1/8" if I remember right....

i got the hood from KWhauck.....they did a group buy years ago.
BTW I found out what the issue is on the fitment problem.....im gonna get like 8 big washers and put 2 between the hood and the hinge because it does sit lower than the fenders in the back so this should help with the fitment issues....maybe.....lol
