Stripped Tuner Lug

Why.... oh WHY did someone design something so stupid....

ok. Motegi rims. Stripped the key, then got a new key, stripped the inside of the lug AND the tip of the new key. (whomever the ahoe was who decided to make these keys out of aluminum, then paint to look like iron.. needs to die slowly. You sir (or madam) are an ahoe)

as an idea of what i'm working with. (not exactly the same, but VERY similar)

The inside is not nearly that "sharp" the spines are maybe 1/5 as deep, on GOOD ones. this one is almost round now.

How do I get it out? I have like.... maybe 1/4" of space to work with, since the stud fills almost the whole damn lug.

Is there enough of the lugnut exposed to have the tool welded onto the lugnet? That may be your only option without torching the whole thing out.

The lug is recessed almost completely into the wheel. So... no. I did read somewhere that JBweld it into place might work. So... thats a possibility...

I think he's talking aboout an extractor. There are one's big enough for what you are into there. Hit up an autozone or NAPA and I bet they will have them. It will grab the inner, not the outer

they sell a lug removal kit for about $50 with the tool that heineck is talking about. hopefully you will have room to fit it inside the rim.

looks like it fits on their just like your lug wrench would.. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use it.

After you get it out, buy a set of Gorilla lug nuts or a design just like it.

Look it up on Summit, I had the same lugs on my old rims and the new ones, so it's going on 7 years now.

I did break a few studs back in 2004, so I always carry extra studs now, but the shop that did it cross threaded the lugs, haven't had a problem since

JB no workie. 4.5 hours to set. hit it with the impact gun... just broke all the JB and sent it flying, spinning the key in place.

gotta find an extractor tomorrow.

Next time use anti seize on them so they don't lock down like that. If all else fails I guess you could drill the lug\stud out.
