Suspension / Mount Noise
The suspension / or mount noise I am having occurs at low speed, when braking under 15-20 mph, or when accelerates from a stop and the front end lifts slightly. It also occurs when the steering wheel is turned while backing out of the driveway, or on a slow, low speed turn. It sounds like one loud, sharp SNAP!, as if something is popping out of place, than later popping back into place. It has been doing that the past several months, but getting louder all the time. Sounds like coming from driver's side area, like somebody took a wrench and *WHACK* tapped the subframe or steering unit.

Hmm.. I don't remember that much about the alero suspension, however we did have an intrepid in the shop that did this same exact thing. It needed front strut bearing plates and it had a couple backed out bolts in the subframe I believe. I would check over all the hardware underneath before you start spending $$$ on parts.

does it make the noise when you turn left and right sitting still? if you have to get somone to steer while you stand out by the front tire and listen.

Three things Id check:
Upper bearing (Strut)
Check the brackets that hold the sway bar to the k-frame(Im leaning more toward this one)
Control Arm Bushing, vertical bushing

Happened to me last summer and turned out to be a cracked spring. Pretty easy to do yourself if you have a spring compression tool.

Thanks for all the suggestions
So far it won't do it when the car is stopped, or if it's raised up. Hope something doesn't actually fall off the car, that would be embarrassing
