Noise when steering
Hey, today i noticed that when i turn there is a kinda groaning noise, then it gets louder when i accelerate,,does anyone know what this couldnbe or how to fix it

check your power steering fluid. sounds like its probably low.

This just happened to my wife's 2001 Sentra. Replaced the belt but it already stretched some. When turning the wheel hard over, the belt would chirp. Tighten it up and it was good.

idk what it is for an engine. if its a 4banger then it wont have a belt for the p/s

Our steering columns are also known to be pretty noisy.

no pulley on the p/s pump on a four banger. the noise gets louder when TURNING and REVVING the engine. can only p/s system. checked that fluid yet?
*edit* after reading the OP over and over. do you mean turning as in sitting still and turnign the wheel left and right, or do you mean taking a turn going down the road? if the turning going down the road then it could possibly be a hub. does it only make the noise going one way?

About 3 or 4 years ago I had noise coming from my power steering pump, I have the 2.2l. It was leaking slightly so I got some lucas oil power steering stop leak and haven't had a problem since then. http://www.lucasoil.com/products/dis...tid=9&loc=show I've always been skeptical of stop leak products but it really worked. And it made the pump quiet. I sucked out all the fluid I could from the power steering reservoir with a pneumatic brake bleeder and poured that stuff in. |

^I had the exact some problem with my 2.2. Used the Lucas oil and over 10,000 miles later haven't had a bit of trouble.
