the time has come GAGT mirror swap
Well, after finding out the dealership sold me a car with broken passenger side mirror i have decided to just go ahead and get the GA mirrors and pop them on. I bought a brand new set for a good price and once they arrive i will rid my car of a floppy old mickey mouse mirror
now the hard part, should i paint them body color before installing or leave them shiny black? also is there a quick remedy for the backwards control problem?

I am going to test fit them too see if i like them black. they are so damn shiny, i almost don't even want to put them on. just need to find a store that sells the door panel removal tool. our local autozone doesn't sell it.

With the car being silver, personally I'd leave them black.

every time i do that, i end up breaking the stupid pins and the door panel becomes loose and annoying.
Also, i read somewhere that once plugged in the controls are backwards? is this true and if so, how do i correct the problem?

There is a pry point in the bottom corner of the door panel, start there and somewhat gently work your way around the outside of the door panel, you shouldn't end up breaking anything

i agree with the others... leave the mirrors black, especially if you are or have tinted windows...

yes she's tinted. "20%" to be exact. ill leave them black. So, I just turn the switch around and it will work like it did? or switch the pins in the connector?
I have a pry bar for nails that im gunna try to pop the panel off with. if it doesnt work im gunna say "eff it" and just yank the panel off

Attachment 11462 this is the only fitment issue i am having. the corner is raised and does not sit as flush to the door as the stock mirrors did. i just hope it doesn't leak. Attachment 11463
overall i am pleased with the "swap" Attachment 11464

Got them for 38.99. free shipping and no tax. ebay from direct auto parts. they are OEM too which is kinda odd considering the price and the whole ebay thing.
