first : there is no t-belt on te LA1... it's a chain... you should know what is is is you got those cars >> 1958 Super 88 Holiday Coupe & 1970 Cutlass S

second : defective plugs/wires causes misfires... not slow starting condition...

start with the obvious have your battery checked 1st, check all your positive and ground wires 2nd, and measure the amounts of amp that your starter draws when cranking...

You're Welcome !!

he may not be refering to how "fast" the engine turns over, but maybe how long it takes to start as in maybe a few extra cranks. i have seen a tune up help this problem before

STILL test the battery. also how about air filter and fuel filter?

Yeah this ^ it used to fire up in 2 or less revolutions, now it cranks awhile before starting

Battery was replaced less than a year ago but I guess I can check it anyway, but again -- it's not that its turning over slowly, just taking to long to start

Just changed the air filter when I did the plugs/wires (+ oil & filter et al)

Fuel filter is something I hadn't thought of though...

Thanks for all the replies BTW (I work retail so this time of year took me awhile to check back)
