keep your oil full and changed and don't let a water pump leak go long without notice...those are the only two things and are fairly common sense for any car however, with low oil the #3 cylinder likes to bail and the water pump is internal so if it is leaking you are most likely getting water in your oil...Take care of it and it will take care of you, it isn't uncommon for people to get 250k or more out of the LD9

Not far from me
Easy mods? WAI or a CAI is an easy (and cheap) start, but how about starting with new plugs, wires, and coils, and maybe even an ICM. GM Ingtions are pretty good from the factory, but if they are orginal, at 160K, it's time to get some new things in there

Don't worry. You're pretty good. Just watch out for the water pump, the chain and always change your fluids. The 2.4 is a good engine and it's really easy to get some decent power out of them. They are related to the famous Quad 4. A lot of parts can fit the Twin Cam engine that were made for the Quad 4. The Cavalier boys have managed to do a lot with the Twin Cam engine.
If you want to do some "quickies" to the engine, I would recommend a change to a good oil, a CAI, and you could always take off the part where it says "TWIN CAM" and paint it.

Thanks guys. I finally finished swapping out most of the lights for leds, dash cluster center, cubby, over head interior, trunk, all the lights in the rear tails, front markers and I modded my third brake with 78 smd leds total!! I made a couple uv 194s (4 leds per bulb)for the dash cluster but they didn't look as good as I thought they would lol

Greetings from Baltimore!
I was wondering if the wheel bearings are an issue on the 4 cylinder 2001 models??? Of course that may have already been done.
