Anyone know what other cars have the same pattern as the alero? I want to get rid of the factory steelies but don't want to buy aftermarket rims.

pretty much anything that has 5x115, 5x114.3 will work on the car... you just need the good offset

awesome i see if i can get get a corvette sawblades of one of my vw buddys to see how the offset looks i think the iroc rims might look decent

Vette rims are 5x120 and the Iroc rims are 5 x 4.75, they will not fit your car, plus they are RWD bolt pattern cars so the backspacing/offset is different.

You could see if you could pick up factory Alero 6 star rims. They came in both 15 and 16 inch. I like the Grand Prix wheels. personally

A lot of cars share the Alero's BP. You just have to do your research and find some within +38mm and +42mm of backspace. Factory 16 inch 6 star are +40mm offset

Question: The smaller the offset, the closer the tire and move to towards the fender of the car right?

i have seen rims that i like, but they all have different offsets. I am not sure how each will look.

+20mm, +35mm, +47mm

It also depends on wodth of the wheel... super wide wheels (9-10) inch with a low offset are going to sit much much differently than some regular sized wheels 6-8

Generally, look for widths between 7 and 8 inches, with offsets of +32 to +40mm.

The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel.

I am looking at rims that are between 7.5-8 inches wide and i want the wheel to be as close to flush as possible... i am ok if the tire is slightly wider than the fender.

The law might not like it though. Also, if the tires sit outside of the fender, think of how mangled your paint will look from road debris being flung up from the tires.

very true. that is already one of the first places these cars rust, and i have no desire to expedite that process.
