What you need is a media expander that works similar to a home receiver that allows you to hookup multiple sources to one central hub. I believe Alpine has something for this but it's not going to be cheap.
If your original CD player has better sound why won't you just stick with that one?

BUT
My Dvd player has 2 set of rca outputs. (one set for the rear and one for the front) What if....
I have two different set rca cables plug into those leading them to some type of splitter and having that splitter plugged into my cd player's audio input then having my cd player hooked up to the speakers?
Would that work?

The N-806 is a pre-amp level (RCA-Leads), voltage sensitive device designed to switch the signal between two head pieces (i.e. Cassette Deck and CD Player or CD Player and MP3 Player) and an amplifier. The control trigger for the switch can be the electric antenna output lead from the deck.
will this work?

Or just use your dvd deck as a source, and use your cd player has the reciever. Basically all the dvd deck would be doing is playing the video, and outputing the signal to the other deck using line level output.

simple solution, two seats of rcas to the amp. its how the competition guys i saw did it. had a separate headunit to hold outside the car for bass race. just switched the RCAs on the amps before they started

Sorry about that, I was dead tired lol. Yes it will work, I did it on my old maxima. The only thing you will lose with this set up is the surround effects, but you are in a car anyway, so who cares?

without diodes in the splitting lines.. your risking burning out the rca's on the slave unit. (which will change depending on which your listening to)

why bother putting all this effort toward it. Just save up and buy one GOOD dvd unit, and you'll be done.
