what would cause the front end to hop viciously in an accelleration (wheels not really turning, just hopping)
That may not be transmission related at all, but motor mounts going out.

Thats the one thing I hate about my mazda, it has REALLY soft motor mounts, and if you accelerate too quickly, it gets some nasty wheel hop.

honestly i think that whole thing w/ launching above 2000rpm's and it causing ur tranny to crap out is BS. I had my car for over a year before I put my B&M shiftplus on and raced it a lot taching it up to 2500-3000 every time and never once had ANY tranny problems. My theory of the B&M makes perfect sense with the added line pressure then having it removed suddenly (turned off)..the tranny's used to having that pressure so without it, it's not gonna perfrom the same till i drive a while w/ it off. If your tranny blew cuz of you launching over 2000rpms then you had a messed up tranny to begin with even before you launched. Cuz come one, idle is basically 1000rpms! how the hell can you "launch" just 500 more?

maybe your tranny was in great condition, and is now slipping because of your launches at 2k plus? just playing devils advocate

ive tried it before, on this car and my older car, my car seems slower when i do it, so i dont see the point to begin with. you dont get wheel spin, but it seems like your making less power, we dont have a real problem with wheelspin anyways, we get some, but not a whole lot (unless you have TC on, then you have a problem with wheelspin-cutting back power)

this is why i don't use the B&M all the time. others have had problems with trannies from the auto interceptor and B&M. but that is why i choosed the B&M i can turn it off and use it when i want to.

i have had my B&M for 1.5 years and tranny still shifts good.

i don't think it will come back. but you never know.
I didn't think the B&M had a switch that ran into the car??? I thought that you had to get under the hood to change all the settings??? Did i undersatnd this wrong??? Please explain.

auto interceptor has to be adjusted under the hood and is on all the time.

the B&M has a switch ran into the inside to where you can turn it off.
