my power supply is 4 guage wires. and from my amp to my subs is 10 guage wireing all the way through to the sub and before that it was 16 guage and it seemed like there was a major difference in the in the sound and bass quality has any body else expierienced this. it was definently worth the money for the bigger wires

What he said. The larger the wire, the more the current. The more the current the more watts you get out of your amp. If you run say, 8gauge power wire you won't get the true wattage out of your amp, because the amp is trying to draw as much power as it can and its not getting enough current through the smaller wire. Thats why most of the cars at sound competitions have 0gauge wire which is friggin huge. The same goes for the subs, the amp is trying to send as much current as it can to the subs, but with smaller wires it can only send so much.

yeah, I run 0 gauge power and ground and 8 gauge speaker wire to the subs.

Its a must if you want to get the most out of you Audio set up.

Of course you may not need to go with 0, 4 Gauge power and ground is more than ample for most installs.

4 gauge is plenty enough. Enjoy your set up dont blow a sub or fry an amp.

think about it this way...you are trying to run water through a garden hose. which hose are you going to get the most water out of? the bigger one...so the bigger the better.
