Unhappy starting problems when engine is warm

Hi,

I swear this car (2001 Alero 2.4) has some sort of chip that makes everything act up since I hit the 100,000 miles

The newest issue is that I have to turn the key at tleast three times if I want to start it right after a short stop. It starts up fine in the morning or after it has been sitting for a few hours.

How should I go about fixing this one?

Thank you

Need more details: Throwin any codes? (I guess not) Are you hearing it crank three times or are you just hearing nothing twice and then it cranks?

thanks for replying.

It doesn't give me any codes.
When I turn the key the first two to three times it cranks, but the engine doesn't start, the next time after that it kicks right in.
It does that only when the engine is warm ... when the engine is cold it starts up just fine on the first try.

The best thing to do is the cheapest. Check plugs, clean plugs. If need be, buy new plugs. Check all the plug wires and boots to make sure you have a good connection.

Turn the key to ON for a few seconds before you start it. Also dump a bottle or two of fuel injector cleaner into your gas tank next time you fill up and be sure to burn through that whole tank before you fill up again. And get a handy friend (or yourself) to clean out your throttle body and throttle plate.

Sounds like what my car was doing when the ign lock cyl was going.

It started off doing this only when the engine was warm, then it got weird and did it whenever

thanks for the reply.
Did the 400 include the labor or was it just for the part?
