Some Issues
So, i thought i would take off the idi cover tonight to paint it and whatever, but to make sure it was ok before i painted it i took it off and put it back on. Well, started it up, sounded a bit off.. like a hollower sound to everything. Took her around the block and now the trac off light is on. Any ideas?
sorry meant spark plug, fixed Mid.. lol im tired and should have never taken the damn thing off

This is the LD9 forum, quit bullshitting about things as if they're even remotely similar to the 3400.
Removing and installing the IDI cover should affect NOTHING. As long as you plugged in the wire harness on the right side, and the spark plug boots are all fitted in and secure, you should have no issues. The four bolts that hold the cover in place do just that, nothing more, no sealing, etc.
There's little springs inside the rubber boots, make sure they're going on right and you have the IDI cover on all the way. The only thing I can think of is that you're misfiring due to poor connection between the coilpack and spark plugs, but that shouldn't cause the traction control light to come on. Wish I could use HPTuners to scan you, could find out tons of info. :/

it was being a pain in the ass going back on... a metal bar above the wire harness had to be kinda forced to the side to get it in/out, is that normal? and it was kinda hard getting it to sit right..

Uhh don't be pushing that metal bar, that'd be your fuel supply line. You have to angle the IDI cover to get it in, then make sure the boots are all aligned over the plugs. You can usually feel when it's all lined up. Ya it is kind of a pain to get it lined up, it's all due to the rubber/plastic boots with springs inside them that have to be seated right.
Does it drive right? Besides the light.

I dunno, it's hard to mess up. Only thing that could happen is that your spark plug(s) isn't firing because it's not aligned right, but to get it on right it has to be aligned right. Makes no sense what problems this could cause.
Only symptoms are that you think it sounds different, and the Trac Off light is on. (Do you have a narrowband A/F gauge? Tends to cause that to be on when you tap into it using tap splices)

A/F = air / fuel - used to give an idea on how rich / lean or perfect the mixture of air and fuel in the combustion chamber is..

Nah, you described it perfect, post skimming just pwn3d the first few responses.
For all those that don't know, IDI = Integrated Direct Ignition.

ok THAT one I know..
open your driver door, on the side of the dash, you'll see a fuse box- take the panel off and you'll see an ass load of fuses and in there you'll find a little red RESET button-
press and hold the reset button (make sure the car is in the ON position.. engine NOT running, but ON)
your dash will beep a few times and a random light will start blinking on your dash.. press the RESET button to cycle through the lights.. once the light you want to reset is blinking- HOLD the reset button untill you hear the dash beep.. the light will blink 2 or 3 times more and shut off. do this to all the lights that are on.
