opinions!? (tires)
my current tires are shot.. one has a nail in it.. and fully deflates after around two days.. the other 3 are gone as far as treadwear goes.. sun cracking.. reak of burnt rubber (brewahah) and are taller and skinner than stock.. at 215/60R/16
what I'm currently looking at-
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....tnum=25HR6EAST
These tires are cheaper than walmarts cheepest.. and they look like a pretty decent tire.. and at 300 dollars shipped.. woot? looking to buy a set of tires this next thursday.. let me know what you guys think, or if I can get a better tire for less-
plus they are stock sized.. at 225/50R/16

Oklahoma does get snow in the winter, right? The winter traction ratings on those tires are horrendous.
I just bought these, they were the same price as the ones you're looking at: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=S
They are the 2nd highest rated tire for our size, behind much more expensive michelins. The tread pattern looks sweet and they ride and handle great, I'm happy with them so far.

im not looking for bawlz to the wall performance here.. lol
I cant even remember the last time snow actually stuck to the road here anyways.. it snows every year- but it NEVER sticks to the roads, and i've lived here for 6 years.

I have no idea what that's suppose to mean.. or if you're even serious-
but on a side note.. I'd buy these tires just to see the 8 feet of snow hit the ground- every year I wonder why it only snows about 2 - 4 inches and NOTHING ever sticks to the road-

I have the AST's and they ride wonderful, have worn good so far, are a quiet, grippy tire. Love em so far. Got a set of 4 put on for $220. (Rox to work at a shop!)

I had those Kuhmo tires you spoke of earlier and they were absolute shit! They were terrible in the snow and not so great overall. They were loud and wore amazingly fast. I've got the Goodyear Assurance right now and they are great! They are extremely quiet and work wonders in any of the nature's blunders. I'm not talking about the triple tread, just the plain old assurance. They aren't real cheap, but they got an 80K warranty and have been worth every penny I spent on them.

Too add insult to injury, I think I got less than 30k out of those kuhmo's as well. I bought them b/c they were cheap and that's what I got...cheap tires.

I now swear by my general exclaim UHP tires. They were inexpensive, ride great, and meet minimum mud and snow requirements. Plus they look awesome :P. Check out my "new shoes" thread for my review etc. Good hunting.

I have Continental ContiExtremeContact tires on the Alero and they are probably one of the best all-around all-season tires I've ever had. The one pair of them lasted over 20,000 miles on the drive tires (I never rotated them LOL!) and I'm not the easiest on them either.
The next set i get may be the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season. Those just got put on the STS-V, have to see how they are.
