Talk about vague.
Get a 12" Resonant Engineering RE series.
THey are stout, sound good, dont take to much power and give good results (for the money).

Not to much really.
I would say about 600 WRMS or so off the top of my head.

Nah... 8 ga can handle 100 amps.
600 wrms / 13.8V= 43.5 amps
43.5 amps x Class A/B efficency of 50% = 87 amps.
Thats on the safe side too.
12volts "recommendations" allow much lead way...

They err on the high side- which is better than the low . Realistically providing your power/ground wire is cool to the touch during heavy use your 100% fine.
Ive run 600+ wrms (true RMS) off 8 ga back in the day. I put on an extra amp and I remember it got pretty hot... lolz. Thats when I didnt know better...
Just be careful with wire. Sometimes youre not getting what you think you are- BUY REPUTABLE WIRE. Not that crap stuff on E bay.

Ok so just talking with my buddy, who just recently wrecked his monte carlo is selling his setup. Its all MTX with 2-10" sledgehammer subwoofers in ported box and 900W amp(TS4001 model I believe) and 4ga stinger wiring kit. All for a grand total of $400.
Deal or no deal?

$400 seems like an awful lot.
I would price the stuff out on the internet then off him half of current pricing. Thats about all used stuff is worth.

Im going to second Crutchfield.
Right now they have a BOGO on select subs. So there are some good deals right NOW. When they dont have the BOGO prices are MSRP...
