A few Maintenance questions

1. My transmission seems to be shifting fine but my car has 141,858 miles so i want to get it checked out. Since there aren't any Oldsmobile dealerships around, where (in terms of dealerships) should i take it? I would rather have someone with knowledge of GM cars look at it rather than a general mechanic shop. If there are any other ppl living in southern CT I live in Stamford for reference.

2. My car has a minor fuel leak. Sometimes when i start my car I can smell gas on the inside. When I went to get my oil changed today the mechanic told me that it wasnt coming from the rear of the car. There also arent any wet spots on the ground whenever I park. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what the problem may be or how much the repair should cost.

take it to a chevy dealer (aleros/malibus are the same car) and have them take a look. probably a tuneup (if not done at 100k) would be nice. trans flush, fuel filter, etc. as far as your fuel leak it could be a leaking regulator, rusted line, something bad with the evap system etc. hard to tell without seeing it.

call or visit your local dealer. Prices will be just as different as the labor rates are.

^get that fuel leak fixed. also general maintenance on the 3400's, you need to watch for the LIMG gasket to go (lower intake manifold gasket) and head gasket. they are know for going though them on that engine.
