after that happened to me the first time i would always check that area. lol and kept it clean so i would notice anything

In the second picture, is that where the thermostat belongs? I have a leak in the same area and want to make sure I buy the right gasket the before I go tearing it apart.

Also, what disassembly did you have to do to get that part off?

the engine is opened up yet, the thermostat is in the area though

i went to the dealer and they quoted me $80 on the gasket set but I think they included valve cover gaskets

If your getting a replacment gasket dont get another GM one. Get an aftermarket, or you will be right back at square one.
