On 4 occasions within the last 2 weeks, my "passlock" security system has activated. The car has always started after I put the key in the ignition to "ON" & waited 10 minutes. Anyone have any ideas, why this is happening? :wtf:

dirty ignition key cylinder or dirty key. If it continues.. you'll prolly need to replace the cylinder or live with the light.

yeah mine has been acting up pretty much every day now too. i always pray before i try to start it. what if we spray some canned air into the key hole? lol i think it might be worth a shot and much cheaper than replacing the cylinder.

how old is your key?

I had it come on while driving and go off after playing with the key. I bought new keys, had them cut, and it hasn't come on since

i just went to the dealership this morning, my car is throwing 2 codes, both of them dealing with the ignition cylinder. not a cheap fix either, gonna run me $350, but thats what i was expecting so its no surprise.

soundz like this system is not as stable as gm thought.

i had a problem 3 times before, too. the remote (none of them even w/ battery replaced and stuff) was recognized by the system - so i couldnt start the car (or remote lock/open).

from next day the r/c worked fine. but it appeared again, so i decided to wait 24h doing nothing to see it i can reproduce this. - it worked next day.

you may think the problem came for a third time.. and yes, even 4 times i had to wait for 24h to drive my ho. im not quite sure what the problem is. in 359 days of th year the remote worx fine, even in up to 300 meters distance.

ho is female so i think its ok to be picky sometimes and so i didn't care to much bout it till now

anyone an idea?
