Hello from Jersey
Hey everyone I just bought a 2000 what I believe to be a GLS but I don't know how to tell for sure. It has the 3.4L and fully loaded with leather and moonroof, and has 85k miles. I bought it off craigslist for $1,800. So far the only thing ive done is swapped the stock rotors for drilled and slotted Brembo rotors. I have had the car for almost a month and out or the 100 plus cars I have owned in my life this is by far my favorite. Such a perfect mix of style, luxury, and pretty decent performance. I look forward to picking your brains on how to take my baby to the next step.

Welcome! Wow, $1800 is pretty good for something that looks so clean! You have MUCH to do. just make sure you abuse the search button and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Thanks guys. It does need a bit of TLC. the interior is perfect but she needs new fenders and a rear bumper. And other day my high pressure steering hose went. Talk about mission impossible to get my hands in there. Thanks for the tip about the search bar, I never used a forum before.

yep the HP line is a bitch to get to without lowering the subframe. IIRC i did mine without lowering it and it took a while to tighten it with a wrench.

Welcome to Aleromod
Next, clear the corners. Only costs about 2 hours of your time (at most)

Thanks everyone. Not really looking to do anything cosmetic right away. I'm a little old school so more into the go then the show. Was checking out the WOT-Tech site and the wish list is in effect. I love this car but she is showing me some tough love. Lost power steering due to a leak in the lower back of the engine. First thought was the high pressure hose. Forked out the $70 for the AC Delco hose but after 3 hours of mission nearly impossible the hose is in and its still leaking. Sounds like the rack/pinion. OH JOY!!! I still love her though

Yeah I got them for $150 and they came with ceramic pads. When I bought the car the rotors were warped and she would shake like a wild bull while braking over 50. The price difference between stock replacements and the brembo ones wasn't much. And the brembo ones have a lifetime warrentee.
