how do you cahnge the bulb under the p,r,n,d,3,2,1?
|
It is a 194 bulb. It is simple just lfit on the plastic peice it will come up. You will then see the light. It takes a slight twist and it will come out. Replace and put back together. [/b][/quote]
yes but now if you have apinted pieces just wait untill ya get ur brun mark on there
i tryed that at first
194 led bulbs project so that didnt work and the normal blue bulbs fade in time so thats a pita

would it be possible (on the cathodes) to put a potentiometer in line to limit the amount of current, so they aren't so bright?
(...if desired of course)
^ thats where my nerdy job of a radioshack employee comes into play...

yes bascily, what it does is it limits the amount of electricicty put out to the light....but see the problem is since the cathodes are built with a certasin amount of light output even dimming it wont change the color...just the way the tubes are made

ok well seein as it is just a fancy word for a dimmer...all it'll do is that..dim the light..dunno if it's good for the cathodes tho...mine is hooked up onto that system(out of sheer luck..couldn't find a power wire) it dims, but still same color...

question - what gives light to the HVAC controls? that and the prd123 (on the dash) are the only things that are still green in my car and i want blue, i put in a blue light under the prd123 lights by the shifter and the blue matches up perfect with my speedhut gauges... so i am hoping that the HVAC lighting is done by the 194 bulb as well

meh, so did you cover those lights up somehow or did you just put the leds in and the leds overpowered the stock lights?

can't tell on there
i'm lookin to change out the lights by the shifter myself, maybe it's doable with just LEDS
Also I WISH you could change the PRN123 in the middle of the gauge cluster
i'll toy with it tomorrow

ok, it's late but I had to show you guys this...I bought Pilot 7 Color 194 LEDs and put one in the shifter and it looks sweet. It starts in Red but red doesn't show up and with the camera you can't see as much of a difference between colors and the light doesn't look as diffused, but it looks cool in person

ImSoBored, how long have you had the touch-up paint on the cubby-hole light? I'm just wondering if the paint will fade in time or what. I'd like to do that, but I'm not gonna waste my time if it only lasts a couple months...

yeah, it just scrolls through 7 colors, fading in and out of each one. The red is not very visible, and most everything else comes out as a different shade of blue, green purple, or something in between. I paid $10 for 2 bulbs, so I still have another one to play with.
