Well the 3400 uses the ACDeclo PF47 filter, but I heard that the PF52 fits and gives an extra .5 quart.
An extra .5 quart, or one pint, of oil isn't going to hurt anything with the PF47 or the PF52, but the PF52 will require it due to it being bigger
You wanna see a big oil fiter, look at the oil fiters on big rig trucks, they are HUGE!

HAHA funny you say. Ive been a diesel mechanic for just over a year now and its funny to see you need to look at caterpillar oil filter for semi's. They hold 1.5-2L of oil. and VolVo semi's have 3 oil filters that hold 1.2L each. LOL/

only a year? what do you specialize in? i've been a diesel technician for 12 yrs now.
and yes cars need maintenance, BUT they won't cheat on you, spend more time with their friends, or be very petite, take up 3/4 of the bed and want to hug you all night. (i need my room to sleep)

Just look up the filter used on the 4.3 chevy astro. That motor takes the longer filter that everyone is talking about.
