larger oil filter?
ive read in another post that there is a larger oil filter that fits the 3.4, which gives you more surface area in the filter, and can, i suppose help with filtering it. i was curious if there was a larger filter that could be used on the 2.4 for the same reason?

With what I know, I personally wouldn't try it... Unless they have just recently made a larger filter that is compatible... Otherwise you are gambling with your engine.

What's the point? The normal size filter works just fine filtering the oil. If it didn't, GM would've gave it a larger filter to begin with.

^^^^^AGREED. what are the benefits of having a larger filter? Cause it filters better???????????? i think the smaller one will filter just as well...

gm goes with the smaller ones because of either cost or space issues. like, the v6 alero uses a pf47 but a pf52 will work. pf52's are biggger, so they cost more because there's more to them

i just got the pf52 this time around... just to see if the oil stays cleaner, a little longer. more filter SHOULD in theory, clean for longer. but who knows. we'll see.

It definately helps, without a doubt. Just don't forget you have to add a little extra oil to make up for the difference, of course.

Word. Larger filter + extra available oil capacity = what snoop dogg might refer to as an 'oil change supreme'
