I noticed little traces of oil in all the oil filters at Walmart also.

Ahhh Retail store stories.

I have two that stick out in my mind. Both come from my Pepsi sales days.

around 2000, I was in the city, and I was just getting done my Phar Mor (pure ghetto drug store but in a nice area so the scum had to drive there) Phar Mor was in the basement, Sears was upstairs on the top 2 floors. The store used to be a Gimbles back in the day, but it was spilt into 2 stores in the early 90's.

Anyway, there was an escaltor (sp?) between the two stores (remember was one big store at one point) and has thought typical glass automatic doors at he bottom of the escaltor.

anyway, one day, I'm getting ready to leave the store and these glass doors fly open. Some guy crash thru them, he gets up and tries to run, only to be jumped by two very large men. They beat the eff out of him, blood all over the floor, Pick him up by his hair, and drag him back upstairs to Sears. He was shoplifting in Sears and got spotted, tried to run out thru Phar Mor but fell down the escaltor. The two men were security.

This story is from an Acme:

Very small old school store, only 11 aisles, long since closed because the store had more shoplifters than shoppers. The store was in a very bad part of NE Philly, right across the street from a pretty bad ass set of projects. I walk in the store to gather the product for the shelf and the receiver says to me, "Yo Pepsi guy, check this out!" so I go over and look. We are standing in the backroom, which is at the end of the dairy aisle, watching a little kid looking at a list, then shoving things down his pants. He took a pound of butter, 1/2 dozen of eggs, and other things and walked out of the store. Of course most supermarket policies state that if you see a shoplifter, you can only chase them to the doors, after the doors, they are free. Mainly for the safety of the store employees.

I've seen a lot of things working food retail, very little surprises me anymore

I work for a supermarket and hell the vendors are bad also; they will throw damaged product into our balers and stuff so they dont have to give us a refund.

Lindsey and I eat food while shopping at Safeway all the time but we take the empty containers and check them out to pay for what we had just eaten.

diabetics get a slight pass... but should take better care of themselves and know to eat ahead of time.

and if your not, get tested. Normal blood sugar shouldn't drop that low...ever.

I hate walmart, for many reasons. But when I lost my keys mowing the lawn I went to walmart bought a metal detector, went home found my keys, took the metal detector back to walmart and got my money back.

There is nothing wrong with doing that. As long as its not anything we need to weigh on a scale for a varying price. Don't let things bother you so easy lol.

Have you ever tried shopping when you are extremely hungry? Eating something in the store saves me easily $100 a month in groceries!

^^ I personally don't do that, but as long as they are paying for it, I really don't see a problem with it.

Starting to figure you out more and more, Chris. Shake your head at the wrong person could get your head slammed into the floor. Keep that in mind

Update to the story.

Yesterday I stopped at Pep Boys to pick up an oil filter. I figured I'd buy an ACDelco Filter since I was there.

I opened the ACDelco box and the ring was fine, no oil, but the inside didn't look right. It was a PF-47E I'm not really sure what the "E" stands for, but over on Classicoldsmobile.com somebody mentioned that the "E" Delco Filters are cheap, crappy filters made in either Mexico or China. There was only 2 more on the shelf and they were both "E"'s as well. So I put it back and bought the Fram 3378 (or 3387 can't remember) with Oldsman's famous "grippy things" on the tip. It was clean, and a good ring on it so I bought it.

This is for mom's car. Mom's car is a 2001 Cavalier with the 2200 SFI engine. The filter is located on the right side of the motor almost directly under the plastic intake housing. The right side is next to the firewall and the filter is directly above the flex pipe. Great idea GM I grab the filter from the top

Gotta love that giant plastic nut that holds it in too, or maybe the one I've worked on is different, it's an 02, and says 2200 ecotec on it, but the filter is in the place you described.

The E-core filters are an improved design. I use them now over the originals.
