TRUE, but only if it's needed

FALSE, features like speed limiter removed, firmer shifts, and fan cooldown delay take effect the first time you crank you car and drive it, so SOME gains can be seen before the Crankcase Position Relearn is performed but not all of them until did.
Correction.....if all you plan on doing is adding a 180 Stat and that's it, you will NEVER see everything it has to offer. Like Ja 2G said, it's a multiplier, it enhances other upgrades. It can only multiply a WAI so many times, ya know?

I go to a tech school and I was playing around with the scan tool and found that it can do the crankcase relearn. So if there's a tech school around take it there, ,most will do it for free.

But like it's been said, the less mods you have, the less gain you'll get from this

Ignorant question here: Can I buy the 180* T-stat from a local parts store, or do I have to order it from pfyc or someone else? I figured I would have the mechanic do this at the same time as my headers this Saturday.

Thanks for the info.. So, another ignorant question. Would you want to change the PCM in the dealership parking lot or something, since after you put it in it won't start until you have the re-learn done. I know that sounds stupid, but I wouldn't think you would want to tow the car to the dealership just for that. I am sure someone will give me a obvious response and I will be smacking my head feeling like a dumbass, but I couldn't think of another way.

im pretty sure the car will start regardless of the case learn situation. it'll prolly run like a dog but it should run. the security relearn (if needed) can be performed in your driveway. you could get lucky like me and dont need either.

You should be able to get the thermostat locally.. If they don't list one for the 3400, you can use one for the 2.4 with no problem.
